Roulette Bets Basics
There can be found two main kinds of roulette bets, they are outside and inside bets. The inside bets are placed on the numbered area, in this case the player is to choose one definite number or several numbers that, in his opinion, are winning ones. The outside bets are placed outer of the numbered chart and allow to choose a grouping of certain numbers. Making outside bets provides more chances to make bets on the winning numbers but the payoffs are much lower. Let’s consider the inside and outside roulette bets profoundly.
Inside Roulette Bets
Straight Bet, also known as classical bet, is made on one of the 38 slots of the betting area. The payoff of this bet is the largest and in case your number appears you are paid out 35 to 1. However, straight bet is believed to be the worst one as it is hard to make bet on the next lucky number.
Two-number Bet gives the chance to wager on two numbers by putting the roulette chips on the line between two chosen numbers. When the white roulette ball stops on one of two numbers the roulette player is a winner. This bet pays 17/1.
Split Bet allows to make bet on the entire row of numbers on the numbered area. To place street or three-number roulette bets the player puts his or her chips on the outermost border of the full row. In case one of these three numbers comes out the payoff on street or three-number bet is 11/1.
Square Bet covers four neighboring numbers. These roulette bets pay 8-to-1.
Five-Number Bet covers only 5 certain numbers, they are 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. If one of five numbers comes up the gambler is paid out 6/1.
Six-Number Bet concerns two neighboring number rows. The payout of this type of bet is 5/1.
Outside Roulette Bets
Red or Black Bet is betting that the ball stops on red or black-colored number. In both cases, no matter red or black number appears, the winner gets 1 to 1.
Low or High Bet can be placed on one of two number groups. The numbers 1-18 are low and 19-36 – high. The payout on this specific type of roulette bets is even money, 1/1.
Even or Odd Bet means that the player bets that the next coming up number will be definitely odd or even number. When zeros come out the gambler loses because zeros can’t be even or odd. This bet pays 1-to-1.
Dozen Bet can be made on one of three groupings of numbers. All the numbers on the table are divided into three dozens. If the gambler places this bet he supposes that the next winning number is from 1 to 12, from 13 to 24 or from 25 to 36. The payout of this specific bet is 2/1.
Column Bet gives the opportunity to bet on one of three number groups, but they are separated according to the columns on the betting grid. The gambler can place bet on the top, middle or bottom columns. The winner gets 2-to-1.
